No Place like Home Part 2: The WIZ

Last Thursday, after arriving home from Mexico late in the evening with the phrase "There's no place like home" running through my head, I was inspired to do a fashion Friday featuring the Wizard of Oz. (Originally, I had every intention of skipping my post that week. My first impulse was to hop in the shower and head straight to bed!)

Around 3pm that night, I woke up thinking "How could I have forgotten the Wiz!!!???"

After doing an extensive online search, I decided to stick with the brilliant creations by Tony Award winning designer Paul Tazewell (of Hamilton fame) from The Wiz Live!

Scroll down for a view of his brilliant designs and some fun quotes from The Wiz Live.

See you next fashion Friday and please feel free to comment below and share with friends.

"If you're gonna be a wicked witch, and you're good at your job,

you're gonna have to expect to rub some folks the wrong way."

~Mary J. Blige as Evillene

"Oh, girl. The places you wind up when you don't look where you're going. "

~ Queen Latifah as The Wiz

Glinda the Good : "You've had the power to go home any time!

Addapearle, why didn't you tell the child?"

Amber Riley as Addapearle : "I thought she'd like to meet you first"

"That's right! Nothin' wrong with bein' a woman.

I don't know where y'all fools learned y'all manners."

~Shanice Williams as Dorothy Gale

"Great, now I got little girls pityin' me." ~David Alan Grier as The Cowardly Lion

"She said that if she couldn't have my heart, then no one could.

Without a heart, I had to let old Bertha go."

~Ne-Yo as Tin-Man

"It makes no sense, so it must be so. You know, the truth is like that."

~Elijah Kelley as Scarecrow

Common as the Bouncer

"And oh, if you're listening, God, please don't make it hard to know if we should believe in things we see. Tell us, should we try and stay, or should we run away, or would it be better just to let things be? Living here, in this brand new world might be a fantasy, oh,

but it taught me to love, so it's real, it's so real to me.

And I've learned that we must look inside our hearts to find a world so full of love, like yours, like mine. Like home!"

~Dorothy Gale in The Wiz Live
