Vivienne Westwood at Paris Fall 2006

Since I create with my hands, I can work while I listen to audio books and podcasts. Over the last few years, I've been listening to books less and less and have become a regular Podcast Junkie.

One of my favorites is 99% Invisible by Roman Mars. To sum it up, it's pretty much all the things behind design that we don't pay a lot of attention to.

They just launched a six part series geared to fashion called "Articles of Interest."

I was listening to last installment a few days ago and was struck by the coincidence that it heavily features Vivienne Westwood, shortly after my own blog post.

Is it serendipity or just a fluke?

Either way, here's an excuse to show a little more of "my Auntie Viv."

I highly recommend you listen to all six.

Since we finally have a chill in the air, I decided to focus on some of my favorites from her past Fall Collections.

(Do you see that rich camel colored velvet peeking through?)

Vivienne Westwood Fall 2010

(Love everything about this. At first I thought that was a fabulous boot but on closer inspection, I think it's a pump with tights.

Vivienne Westwood reinvents historic garments, 2006. She says her clothes 'are a criticism of mediocrity and orthodoxy'

Vivienne Westwood Fall 2010

(this would be my Cinderella Dress)

Vivienne Westwood 2015

(This appears to be the same outfit that's on the cover of her Bio

Since my last blog, I've been on the hunt for a deep Sienna burlap.)
